This position is for a Senior Linux System & Network Administrator.
Medium sized banking industry service provider is seeking an experienced candidate with
strong systems knowledge who is interested in growing his/her skill set while managing
different operating systems, virtualization technologies and enterprise database management
systems and web based applications.
The position requires hands-on experience in network & systems administration, setup and real-time support.
Responsibilities will include:
Physical installation of servers and network equipment. Rack-mount, label, and inventory of servers at office and datacenter installations.
Problem diagnosis and solving of issues in Systems, Network and Application environments.
Installation and configuration of operating systems and software products according to pre-defined standards.
General systems maintenance tasks such as daily review of logs and alerts, building and managing physical and virtual servers, installing software, managing resource usage, and applying patches.
24/7 First-response to alerts due to network/system/application issues
Execution of system-related operations such as 24/7

Requirements:
5+ years experience systems administration in a production environment.
Extensive experience with the Linux operating system (RedHat/Fedora).
Experience with virtual server deployments (VMWare Server 1.x, and VMWare ESXi 3-4 preferred).
Sound understanding of networking concepts.
Experience with the following is necessary:
- RedHat KickStart
- PostgreSQL, PHP, Apache, Postfix
- Dell Remote Access Cards
- LDAP (preferred)
- Astaro Firewalls (preferred)
- Load Balancers (preferred)
- Cisco 1841 Routers (preferred)
Experience with SAN and NAS Storage concepts (iSCSI experience preferred)
Scripting exerpience in BASH & PHP.
Ability to learn new or unfamiliar technologies and products, independently using documentation and online resources a must.
Strong oral and written communications skills.
Strong focus on organization, and attention to detail.
Demonstrated ability to function in a high pressure production support environment and make
informed real-time decisions based on business priorities and implications.
Our offices are in Midtown Manhattan, and our primary data center is in Cedar Knolls, NJ.
This postion requires on-site presence in both locations.
Salary: $75K-$100K depending on experience
